Say my name

When I was checking out at Kroger yesterday, I heard someone calling my name. At first I thought I was experiencing audible hallucinations after hearing my name called 100 times yesterday.

“Kelley” “Mrs. Kelley” “KT” “Hey, one question…”20130610-051512.jpg

I love these precious volunteers! They always apologize for ‘bugging’ me because they know how busy I am. Oh, I wish they could know they are NOT bugging me.

There actually was a lady calling my name at the grocery store. She had a question about VBS. She was buying food for the hospitality room. Just another member, ministering!

One of the reasons I love this ministry so much: all the parts of the body work together to make it happen. Over 150 adults and students descend on the building each day for a week using their gifts and talents to serve. There are countless more that are committed to praying, bringing food, and giving encouragement. All the pieces of a grand puzzle are fitted together to form the most beautiful VBS picture!

There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.” ” 1 Corinthians 12:6

Father, You called my name when You saved me. You called me again when You asked me to serve in this ministry. I’m humbled You allow me to see You working this way. I have watched deep friendships form among volunteers who were paired up for the first time in VBS. You have shown me every believer has a role to serve in ministry. Thank you for blessing this body of believers know as Gateway withso many willing servants. They have taught me so much about you!
