Cynicism is popular.
After all, there’s disproportionately more disappointing news than positive. Thank God for cat videos.
Don’t think you are even a little cynical? Are you surprised over leaders experiencing moral failures? What about epidemics and natural disasters? Is it because of our overwhelmingly connected society that we have such incredible disconnect?
Whatever the reason, I say NO! In the face if that, dare to be radically different. Be rebellious. Dare to hope.
We celebrated with our church family yesterday. A big ‘ole music-filled, testimony-giving, preaching-from-the-word, dinner-on-the-grounds kind of celebration! God did some amazing things in and through us this summer. People selflessly sacrificed so much to serve. Just as we were created to do. Jesus poured out His life. What wonder! Here are so many who lived and loved in so many ways this summer. Just to show Atoka the love of Christ.
Sure we did it imperfectly, because we’re sinners.
But in spite of that people were added to the kingdom. Their eternity in heaven secured! Families are seeking The Lord because of the faithful believers that acted obediently to the call . They gave till it hurts. None of this would be possible without the Holy Spirit. It is by His power. He gets all the glory!
As I type this I’m still smiling like a maniac! Sitting here, now, I’m still worshipping. Sometimes, I gotta type with one hand so I can lift the other up as I sing and thank Him!
Y’all, that’s not naïveté.
That’s H O P E!
“And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us” Romans 5:5
