The world is full of rags to riches stories!
You know the ones where real transformation occurs? Of course, none give me greater joy than stories of God’s grace in people’s lives. (If you are a frequent visitor, you know that).
What does that have to do with Furniture Renewal? Hmm. Well, I guess its a sweet reminder of the transformation Jesus makes in our lives. Plus, I totally get to hear incredible stories as I meet and work with people on their furniture! Last weekend, I had the pleasure of swapping tales with Rhonda (only 4 hours for this dramatic change!).
I hear ya, let’s get to the photos!
Rhonda couldn’t believe what a dramatic change we were able to complete in one morning of working on the desk. She and Frank have big plans to make it the showcase of their new home office. This is what she had to say:
“Thank you Kelley Taylor for spending your Saturday with me. The desk turned out beautiful, Frank and I both love it. Your ministry of renewing furniture while sharing the love of Jesus truly blessed me. I am excited to paint something else soon. I will send pics of my next masterpiece!”
I never thought about it being a ministry. Daddy says if something is worth doing, it is worth doing well. I agree. The Lord says we are to do everything as though we are serving Him. I take that to heart. I guess because he gave me a new heart. Now my desire is to please Him in whatever I do -including renewing furniture.
I hope you enjoyed the before and after photos. I’d love to hear from you. How do you honor God in your work?
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 36:26
